Deconstructed Herbal Tea
A downloadable zine
Created for the Zine Idea Generator 2.0 Jam, this zine is based on the first prompt I saw:
The synergy of a scented zine and herbal tea was too fun to pass up. I cut out letters from herbal tea packaging to make the title, and inside is actual tea (glued to the pages). I had to make it scented somehow, after all!
Zine Contents
- A snazzy cover!
- A contents page with the names of the teas!
- FOUR types of herbal tea! Each lovingly glued to the page to create white space in the shape of a tea bag. Y'know. To make it the "inverse" of tea.
- Descriptions of the teas' scents! Because unfortunately we have not yet developed the technology to make digital files convey smell through internet tubes.
Included Files
As well as a scanned copy of the zine that I cobbled together with glue and staples, I've included several print-ready DIY PDFs in case you have some bizarre desire to attempt making one of your own. There's also an instructions PDF with printing steps and construction tips, which I highly recommend if you plan to attempt this.
Safety Notes
The optional, inadvisable crafting adventure is not for kids; tea is messy, and potentially inhale-able. Check the ingredients of your tea, and please don't use any that have ingredients you're allergic to. (Although if you have tea that you're allergic to in your cabinet, I have concerns!) If your tea seems dusty, I recommend wearing a mask and working in a well-ventilated area (or outside). You may also want to wear gloves if the tea has any essential oils.
(If that sounds like too much work, you can always just download the digital version of my zine and laugh at the fact I actually had to glue herbal tea to it!)
